I want to first thank GOD that my Joey is doing much better! He is still in some pain and yesterday was pretty hard on him.
My Mom took him in for his first Physical Therapy and he did OK. He was in some pain when he left the office. He called to tell me that he felt that he was twisted like a pretzel! He will be going to PT two times a week for the next 4 weeks.
This will be just in time for our vacation. We informed the Dr. that our vacation next month is to go skiing and she told us that he can go and just snuggle in near the fireplace with a hot cup of cocoa but that he will not be well to go on the slopes.
He was a little bummed out at first and hubby and I even thought of canceling out trip. We mentioned it to Joey and he told us NO! He said that even though he can not ski he knows his little brothers are really excited about this trip and he does not want to ruin it for them. He also told me that it was more about us spending time together as a family and that was more important than anything else.
We have now decided to adjust out trip and we will be in Ober Mountain for 3 days and then we will head to Chattanooga to see the sights and go to Rock City.
So the vacation plans are still a go!
I have received calls from almost all of his teachers and I must say that after hearing so many good things about Joey I am one proud Momma!
His teacher’s have been wonderful to us and they told us not to worry that he has a 4.0 GPA and that his grades will not be affected.
The teacher’s have emailed all of his work as well as his mid-term exams for him to complete them at home. He will return to school on Wednesday (Monday & Tuesday he does not have class). He is almost up to date on his class work and he is already itching to go back to school.
I want to thank all who have commented or emailed me privately, all your prayers truly mean a lot to us.

glad to hear that Joey is doing a little better.
Sorry to hear he wont be able to ski :0(
I'm so glad to hear that Joey is starting to mend and feeling a little better. He sounds like such a mature young man (his reaction to the news that he wouldn't be able to ski with the rest of the family)...you have every right to be proud of him!
I am very glad to hear that he is doing better. Your vacation sounds like it will be wonderful :)
