"My Labor of LOVE" Happy Birthday JOEY!

Birthday Graphics

It was 15 years ago... I was so young and scared at the time. My Labor had started and I was in your grandmothers house. It was the eve of you birth around 9:00pm when the pain started so bad and unbearable that I asked my Mom to take me to the hospital. It was your time to come...

I endured the pain during the whole night, I was all alone in that room, because back at home where you were born they did not permit anyone by my side. I was so scared, trembling with fear of what may come...

At around 6:30am the doctor told me that it was time. I did not know what to expect but it all came naturally, I pushed with all my heart and after 1/2 hour of pushing you were put in my arms... Your face was just perfect, your rosy cheeks your bald head. I counted your fingers, I counted your toes, they were all there...

I was only a child myself at a mere 18 years of age... You were the biggest baby in the nursery you weighed 11 lbs 8 oz. Wow this was truly hard labor...

I remember going to see you at the nursery, I was all alone just looking at you. I was afraid to take you in my arms.

I did not know how to latch you on to nurse and I over heard one nurse tell the other "let me help her out, she does not know how to do it, she is only 18" I remember feeling so small and I just wanted to shield them away. I new I was just a child and I did not need anyone to tell me it. But my maternal instinct was there and I nursed you. What an achievement for me that was.... Just to hold you in my arms and look at you filled my heart with such joy...

When I walked out that hospital with you in my arms I KNEW I had to make something of myself. Not for me, not for the world but because of you MY SON...

I went to college at night and worked during the day. It was tough but I had my mom there for help and support... I did it I became somebody to provide for you and that was my purpose in life...

Years have gone by and we have been through a lot... I have made many mistakes in my life, and at that point when you were born everything in my life was just wrong.... Until you were put into my arms... Then it all became right!

Happy Birthday to whom always be that baby put into my arms....

MY First BORN, MY Son!

Happy BDAY Joey. OH MY GOD almost 12 pounds. My story is very similar to yours. I gave birth to my first born when I was 19, I was young and had no experience but he was my joy. Because of him I am what I am today. I went to the university and completed my BBA, because and for him. But he was only a 5 pound baby, jejeje.

Lovely story..
